Introduction

Ngamba Island is part of the koome group of Islands (which includes Kiimi, Nsazi, Koome, Bulago and Damba islands) located approximately 23km south-East of Entebbe, currently surrounded by the waters of lake Victoria and is home to over 49 orphaned chimpanzees rescued from across East Africa.

Detailed Itinerary

After an early rise and breakfast, you will be met by your guide /driver who will drive you to the dock where you will jump on to a boat and cruise to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

On arrival, you will be welcomed by one of the chimp’s caregiver who will be your ground guide throughout the whole experience. You will have an opportunity to view the chimpanzees feed and at the same time participate in feeding them. You will also be able to see monitor lizards, quite a number bird species, such as the weaver birds, among others.
